Q - How is this product different from other shampoos?
A – It is specifically formulated to treat eczema, dermatitis, flaky dry scalp and dandruff. The formula does not contain toxic or harsh ingredients or sodium lauryl sulphate and is pH balanced, hypoallergenic and biodegradable.
Q - What are the main ingredients?
A - Based on same active ingredients as in Hope’s Relief cream, Manuka honey, Calendula, Aloe Vera, Licorice extract, Gotu Kola
Q - Are they all natural / organic?
A - Yes, they are completely natural and certified organic where possible.
Q - Do they contain any animal products?
A - No, but Manuka honey is insect derived.
Q - Are they scented?
A - No artificial fragrance but you may be able to smell the natural ingredients such as licorice.
Q - Are they safe for pregnant women / newborn babies / young children?
A - Yes, in fact they are perfect for them and anyone with sensitive skin.
Q - What about for sensitive eyes?
A – Suitable for people with sensitive eyes though do close your eyes while rinsing.
Q - Are the ingredients high quality?
A - The ingredients are of premium quality – only the best available are used and these cost much more than using cheaper detergents. As they are very rich and concentrated only a small amount is needed.
Q - I don't have any particular scalp problems – are they good for me to use?
A - Yes, they make great natural hair care products with no irritants. It leaves the hair clean, soft and with shine and bounce.
Q – Will it strip the oils from my hair?
A - The formula will not strip the hair's natural oils or damage follicles. It does not contain any toxic chemicals which would be absorbed through the skin.
Q – How often should I use them?
A - For maximum results when the scalp is affected by eczema, psoriasis or dandruff both the Shampoo and Conditioner are recommended and should ideally be used on a daily basis for a minimum 2 weeks. After initial treatment, they can be used as and when required.
The formulas are very safe and gentle to use and also suitable for daily if required.
Q – Are they suitable for use on coloured hair?
A - Yes the products do not contain harsh chemicals that would strip hair colour.
Q – Does the shampoo lather up?
A - Yes; though you may find that it doesn't lather quite as much as a cosmetic shampoo, as we don't use the harsh detergents that the cosmetic shampoo's use to produce a lather. These chemicals are known to irritate the scalp so Hope's Relief avoids all harsh additives.
